Photography

I enjoy photography very much. I remember as a teenager getting my first “real” camera—an Olympus OM-2 35mm film camera—which was a gift from my parents. I also remember on occasion my dad getting annoyed at me for taking pictures of anything and everything I pointed the camera at. He didn’t understand how much of an addiction it was becoming to me, and only saw the expense involved in processing all of that film. With the evolution into digital I now have the freedom of taking as many pictures as I want without having to worry about shooting through 20 rolls of film in one trip.

I also enjoy photo retouching. Nothing makes me happier than to be able to return an image file to a customer in better condition than the original. I love working with old portraits, but I also love the challenge of more detailed images like cityscapes. Plus, I can scan the images right here in my studio.

The ad at left from Knoebels Amusement Resort features the contest-winning photo I took (top) of my family riding the wooden roller coaster Twister while visiting the park in May 2009. I was awarded $100 in ride tickets for my submission to the 2009 “My Kind of Fun” photo contest, and the image is currently being used in their advertising and on their website.
